Easter

I remember as a child our trips yo Rathbone Street Market to get fish ready for Good Friday as Mum being an Anglo Catholic had been brought up never to eat meat that continued throughout her life but scampi became the chosen dish normally as she got older or a nice bit of haddock from Asda or Morrisons. Every grandchild and great-grandchild got an egg regardless of age but it didn't stop there as they all had to have a present or money as well. Mums back bedroom was littered with eggs each in a carrier bag with names on waiying to be collected. I remember going in there was and she'd stacked them near the radiator noy a good idea I told her ha ha ha. Easter cost her a small fortune. The only chocolate I ate as a child was white so mum always got me a milky bar kid wagon egg. I got one of those right through adulthood as she never left anyone out. I remember her moaning when she thought they'd stop doing a few years back so instead I'd get a small one for 99p like the children with an "ere ya go, I've got one left over, you can have that". . Xx .
